Pensée | 10" Hoop

The origin of the name Pansy is from the French word "pensée", which translates to thinking or pondering over something. There are various symbolisms associated with this flower, but the ones that resonate with me the most are "free-thinking" and "deep consideration". I developed a fondness for pansies last year after coming across some unique varieties on Instagram. I was surprised to learn that pansies come in a rainbow of colors, including antique shades and black. I admire them for their resilience and endurance - they were the last flowers blooming as winter approached in Michigan, and there are several in my garden that survived the coldest nights and are still thriving.
